NYS Child Care Deserts Information Session

Families are in desperate need of child care and are finding "deserts" where there is no child care offered.

Invest in New York - Child Care Deserts Grant offered by NYS Office of Children and Family Services hopes to address child care areas considered "deserts" across our state.  Deserts are areas that do not have enough licensed / registered child care slots to serve the children living there.  This grant opportunity helps those interested in opening a child care program in areas of need.  

$100 million in funding will be available to expand child care capacity in areas of NYS with low availability. 

Follow these steps to apply:

1. Review information about Deserts on OCFS website at:  https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/childcare/deserts/
2. Create an account and complete the online Orientation (specific to the modality type) at:  https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/childcare/providers/cdc-orientation.php
3. Register for our Child Care Deserts Informational Sessions by clicking the CLICK HERE TO REGISTER button above.
