Understanding Children's Behaviors-Supporting the Individual Needs of Infants and Toddlers
All of us have been overwhelmed by our emotions. Now let's consider the young children we care for and think about some of their challenging behaviors. Often young children's challenging behavior may be the result of moving through three stages of development. As children seek emotional security, explore their environment and develop a sense of identity through relationships they rely on the adults who care for them to keep them safe and help them develop a sense of physical and emotional security. In this session, we will explore the indicators and contributors to social/emotional health. Specifically, we will identify how caregivers of young children can contribute to social/emotional health. Additionally, you will receive a tool to assist you in identifying five possible causes that can help make meaning of young children's behavior.
