Transitions can be one of the most difficult things you face as a child care provider. Whether you’re trying to get a group of toddlers to switch activities, prepping your preschoolers for Kindergarten or welcoming a new child into your program, periods of transition and change are something all child care providers face and can be hard for both the child and their family. We’ve designed this fall’s conference, Navigating the Transitions of Child Care, to give you the tools and ideas needed to foster smooth, effective transitions in early childhood education.

The transition to Kindergarten is an important milestone both for the child and their families. We’ve teamed up with local school districts to host a Kindergarten Transition Summit during the first half of the conference. Our goal is to bring school district staff and child care providers together to plan how to make this transition as successful as possible. You’ll earn a total of 6 OCFS credit hours at the conference; 3 hours for attending the Summit, and 1.5 hours for each afternoon workshop you attend.
